Kemet laying off 120 in Greenville
The company once was one of Greenville County's largest employers, with about 4,000 workers on its payroll in 2001. Kemet acquired the Vergato and Towcester manufacturing facilities when it completed its acquisition of Arcotronics Italia S.p.A. from Blue Skye (Lux) S. r.l. last year. Company officials, who today are scheduled to release earnings for the December 2007 quarter, said that as they continue to integrate processes with the businesses Kemet has acquired over the past year, some additional consolidations could be announced. Shares of Kemet, on New York Stock Exchange, rose 18 cents, or 3.26 percent, to $5.70 on Monday. .
