Local Students Honored as Music Students of the Month
Students will be invited to perform at a year-end recital in June. The January Music Students of the Month are (biographies supplied by their teachers): Jessie Downs Mendham High School, Mendham Jessie is a member of the Area Band of North Jersey, the ACDA All Eastern Honors Choir, NJ All State Choir, and NJSMA Region Choir. Jessie also appeared on Mendham's stage in their production of Oklahoma. She plays soprano sax, clarinet, and coronet and is involved in the school's marching band, symphonic band, and two jazz bands. She has been composing and arranging both instrumental and vocal music for the past two years. Christian Elowsky Ridgedale Middle School, Florham Park Christian Elowsky, Grade 8, is truly a "music man." He plays the trumpet in the jazz band, the French horn in the concert band and the piano for many school productions such as school musicals.
